Very good puzzler with 2 disadvantages: time limit and pretending to be a Japanese game. By the way two level codes are absent in "Cheat" section, so here they are: T - ROBOTECH, U - POPULOUS. There are no codes for levels from the last column.

Gem'X is a puzzle game in the strangely prolific vein of wannabe-japanese looking german games. As such it is not really authentic in its look and feel but it is nonetheless very well designed, playable and addictive. A password saving system and 2 fire button controls are very welcome bonuses here. I feel it would have been much better if no fake manga aesthetics were involved at all, but as it is Gem'X is a very nice puzzler for the Amiga (7/10).

Definitely one of the best puzzle games on the Amiga. Cute, colourful, aurally pleasant, brain teasing and addictive. Whats not to like! 8/10

This game would be a lot more fun if not for the time limit. Quite like the fake Japanese styling, even if it is a little crass.

I had so much to say about this misandristic man-exploitation mixed with japan-exploitation done extremely badly, that I had to split my comment to several pieces, and I did it 'back first', so it would be readable in correct order.
Gem'X looks nothing like the japanese games would - and the worst insult is the nonsensical and badly drawn, and also badly written KATAKANA in the title.
It's like they didn't know when to use the small "tsu" and when to use the large "tsu". The result is that the writing
in the top left corner says "Hitsuto", but the "hi" is so
stylized, it's hard to see, whether it means to be "Pi" or "Bi"
instead. I think it means to say "Hitto!", as to imply that it's a "hit game", trying to be funny in a supposedly japanese way. But the TSU being large, it becomes "Hitsuto" or even "Pitsuto". Doesn't make any sense.
Also, the "to" kana is all wrong, it doesn't curve like that, or like that (looking at each version respectively).
Then, what is the red KANA supposed to say/read/mean?

From what I can read - and THAT kana is awfully hard to read because it doesn't look anything like real KATAKANA should - it seems to say: "PIRAMITSUDO - AJIKKU", except that for that to work, the last "KU" should be large, not small, like it seems to be, and the small TSU should be even smaller than it is. So if they are the same size, as they seem to be, then there ARE no small letters, and it should be read "AJITSUKU".
Maybe they made the same mistake in the first word (and in fact, ALL the words!), so every "TSU" should be read as "double consonant"? Ok. Then it looks to be saying:
PIRAMIDDO (which would be 'Pyramid') - AJITSUKU/AJIKKU!! (which means absolutely nothing, as far as I know, and a quick research produced only a street name, "Adwick-le-Street". However, they may have tried to write MAJITSUKU, which refers to magic making (though 'maji (de)' also means 'really', or 'seriously'))
Curiously, there is an Android game called "Majikku Hiiroozu", which would be japanese transliteration of 'Magic Heroes', that does resemble a similar puzzle game judged purely from screenshots:

Perhaps they meant to write "Pyramid Magic" in KATAKANA. But I'd actually learn some japanese before trying to write things in KATAKANA, otherwise things like this will pretty assuredly happen. Because that text definitely doesn't say "Pyramid Magic" or "Hit", but "Hitsuto!" and "Piramitsudo - Ajikku", but even that is wrong, because the last "ku" is small, so I don't know if it should even be pronounced.
The graphician had NO clue as to how to draw manga gals.
The faces are distorted and mutant-like, the sizes and proportions are all COMPLETELY WRONG, and the end result just looks completely unacceptable.
The cover is downright hideous.
The voices are not in japanese, surprisingly, but make no sense nevertheless. "I love you"? What? A repulsive cartoon hag just LOVES anyone, who plays this crap? What kind of a desperate slut is she? I guess she'd have to be, looking like THAT, but still. Makes you wonder, just how many men has she already "loved", and how special that love must have been, when it's shared equally between everyone..

When your product is sub-par, just use SEX to merchandize or advertise it, and it will sell like pancakes! (I never found out the difference between 'hot cakes' and 'pancakes', so they should sell equally well)
I honestly didn't have the patience to learn how to play this after all that disgusting japan-exploitation in the cover and title, and in the game itself, so I just randomly clicked gems and things seemed to happen and that was pretty much that.
A pityful attempt. This reminds me of Apidya, which is also written wrong in KANA, but at least they didn't attempt to draw manga pictures or write long words without knowing how to do it (or maybe they did - can't remember much about Apidya right now, except the title screen fiasco).
There should be less gimmickry and more honest self-expression, we would get better games, and the world would be a better place.
Don't try to mimic someone else, or some other 'style', unless you cultivate your own style to become that style. Otherwise, you get a mess like this.

An incredibly addictive puzzler that's brilliantly presented. "I love you." "Great!" "Oh no." Did you know that every time you fail a level, a cute naked Japanese girl with unfeasibly colourful hair dies? No, 'cos I just made that up. That's what this game will do to your mind. Wonderful.

I think the graphician of this could have basic knowledge about the crystal structure, but knew absolutely nothing about the human anatomy

I'd love to see this superb puzzler converted to the Nintendo DS.

I thought for a puzzle game this was good, it had nice colourful GFX, great music by Mr.Huelsbeck aka Turrican series & Jim Power, it was addicitve very much like Tetris in some respect. This was one game which I think was better than most puzzle games

I remember playing this game a few times back in my schooldays, but I couldn't remember what this game was about. That's why I played it again today. I like puzzle-games a lot... Let me rephrase that... I like good puzzle-games a lot! Because there are also a lot of games that want to train your brains and are very dull. Gem'x isn't a game of that category. I liked it a lot. Simple but highly addictive! Touch coloured crystals until the colours match the ones of the pile on the right of the screen to advance to the next assignment. Complete 5 assignments and you advance to the next level. A nude girl (although vital parts of the body discretely obscured) will give you the password for that level so you won't have to start all over the next time. The first levels are fairly simple but it gets harder along the way. Nice colourful graphics, brilliant soundtrack (!!!) of the master of sonics Chris Hülsbeck and very addictive gameplay make this a top puzzler!
Graphics: 7/10
Sound: 10/10
Playability: 8/10
Overall: 8/10
