In the C64 days I was a big fan of Hawkeye. Superb game with excellent graphics, brilliant soundtrack and tons of playability. Sadly in this Amiga version all these things are absent. Play the C64 version instead!
Graphics: 6/10
Sound: 5/10
Playability: 5/10
Overall: 5/10

I waited with baited breath for this to appear on shop shelves as the C64 version kicked ass! I was sorely disappointed when I got down to playing it! It just seemed to lack polish in all aspects and seemed like a rush job for the Amiga. Pity, as it could have been a cracker.

C64 version is THE version to play. Amiga version is just crap...

Ridiculously reminiscent of the C64 version to such a degree that u would not know u were playing an Amiga game.
i believe none of the thalamus titles fared well on the Amiga. What were grand achievements on the 8-bitter, seemed like a little exercise for the 16-bit platforms.
development costs would have been prohibitive, I figure, had a design team decided to tailor the aural and visual delights to the Amiga. For one, I always found it pointless to have senseless consoles cover one third of the screen, the only purpose being the effortless placement of high scores, life energy and what not. This horrible looking work-around always seemed awfully pedestrian since the Amiga beautifully handled the arcade norm of intergrated game-stats. The colour palette was hardly considered, apparently, nor was the soundtrack punched up to four-channel stereo-sound, even though "xenon 2" proved how crucial a thundering aural environment was to the success of a game.
i used to be greatly excited by the 16-bit potential of a grand C64 game. Yet more often then not, the "wizball"-effect ensued. I still would not rate "hawkweye" low, since its technical mediocrity belies its innate entertainment values that overwhelm some of the better looking games.

Hawkeye feels empty - Repetition sets in very early and some pretty Graphics (though not much better than the C64) do not disguise an empty game. I always thought that most of the Thalamus games were over-rated by the magazines (especially the Newsfield titles!), and this proves my theory. Look for a better platformer with action overtones.

The C64 version was one of the best titles ever. The Amiga version... No.

A bit of a disapointment when compared to the classic C64 version, nice title screen tho
