I remember playing the Arcade game, alot of fun. The Amiga version feels more like a painful slog than an entertaining piece of software. Better in two players, share a drink and remember the good old days. Forgettable conversion of a classic Arcade game.

A good one. Especially with a friend. To be honest: without one you simply don't have a fair chance of winning this one. I somewhat hated this game because of it difficult setting but it kept me coming back for more until i finally got it beaten.
What it really suffers from is that everything is executed by just one button. So most of the time you are dying is just because of controlling-reasons. And that always sucks big time. So I took the pace and got a trained Version. Without trainer it is very frustating which IMHO isn't a bad thing and not a point regarding the score of a game.
If it's too hard you are too weak.

I still own this game and played it to completion only last week.
Even back in 87 this game was poor, a total rip off of other film tie-in titles of the time.
Afters hours of repetitive, dull, unimaginative game play with poor graphics that wouldn't be out of place in the 8 bit version, your reward.......
Nothing but a lame background image that looked like it was drawn on a ZX81 and a well done message.
This game for me is a 5 star turd burger, a shame considering some of the classics this publisher made on the 64 and that version is acceptable, the Amiga version just feels like a quick cash-in attempt.
If it wasn't for the fact that I quite like collecting original games it's only redeeming features would be that I could use the disc as a tea coaster or to save my progress from other games on it.
All in all an EPIC FAIL.

No where near as good as the 64. I loved slowly advancing in the 64 version. I didn't know whether to take it slow or rush through it like Commando. My ammo ran out a lot easier as well. Didn't enjoy this one.

Not as good as the C64 version and when it was so much missing the helicopter flying down the screen early on it felt a bit empty inside. Nice GFX, OK sound. A good game but C64 for the win.
Needs Relokick to run on an A500+ or above if using the original disk

I've had quite some fun playing this game with a friend of mine. Ikari's two-player mode was the strongest part of this game.

This commando rip off was one of those games which I bought in the early period owning an Amiga. Only because of that it holds a soft spot in my heart, but the game was quite frankly kind off dull in the end.

The game never impressed me. Yet, I kept going back for more. I hated it when I wasn't playing it; loved it when I was.

Not the best conversion, not bad tho. A game to play like this, is time soldiers.....on the.....Master System.....

I didn't like this game too much. It is similar to Commando (on C-64), but much inferior. The graphics - after the good beginning - is quite dull and uninspired, the music is monotone and utterly forgettable, and the gameplay is incredibly hard and unfair. (You won't get a single extra life during the whole game, and there are some places - f.e. The water parts with the "heat-seeking" mines - where you will almost surely die a few times.) The gun ammo runs out quickly, and you can barely find replacement - of course, you can replenish it if you lose a life, but it's quite annoying since you have so few lives to begin with. I really wanted to like this game, since it seemed funny at first, but I found it a great disappointment.

Sad that you can't play this with a keyboard. Arcade game let's you move your hands by using a dial controller in order to shoot different directions but this important feature is not available in Amiga version. In other respects, this conversion is fine enough for 1987 standards. The graphics are better than in the original version. The game offers nothing spectacular but somehow the overall mood is nice enough and I kept playing this from time to time...

This was a pretty good conversion. It was total mayhem at times and the 2 player mode was lots of fun but I somehow preffered the commy 64 version.

And yeah, the ending is pretty crappy.

I remember this game when it arrived with my free gamespack, it was hard but yet enjoyable at times.

Suffers a little from age. It's best to play 2 player on this.

The difficulty level on Ikari Warriors is way too high - Having a small playing area doesn't help, and this spoils the gameplay some what. The Graphics are fine and very arcade-like. Just expect to have to put in a few hours to get anywhere!

Very good.

Two player simultaneous action and tanks that you could board... As a Commando fan I fell in love with this, although my friends never liked it that much, so I had to play alone. Boo!

Even better than the C64 version.
