It's one of those games you want to be really good but misses the mark. 7/10

I was sort of a fan of anything Will Harvey did back in the day, starting with Music Construction Set for the Apple. The Immortal had an incredible level of polish to it... And the gameplay was challenging, but not really all that hard once you figured out the puzzles. While the graphics were generally good, the inventory screen in particular was gorgeous.

What I am amazed of, is the game manual, which contains wonderful hand drawn illustrations and a nice story. It is also needed (okay, not needed, but it helps a lot) to solve some puzzles and beat few monsters in the game. And the game itself: difficult to control, but original, with nice graphics and has something that was later called "the Diablo feeling".

Insanely hard and somewhat complicated to play. I never got really far in it, but tried over and over again. The graphics are not exactly pretty and the control scheme is a tad 'fumbly', nevertheless it sticks out as one of the Amiga games, that impressed me most ... For obscure reasons.
I suppose my fascinations stems from the rather unique atmosphere and the strange mixture of 'dungeon romp', action sequences and trap-filled puzzles.
I might try again, with a trusty walkthrough by my side

I liked everything about the game, dispite the fact that I couldn't finnish it.

Kind of a precursor to Diablo and its countless clones, this was both a welcomed novelty and a competent design. There was nothing mindblowing about The Immortal, but everything in it worked fine and provided an interesting experience.
