I have always had mixed feelings about this Jurassic Park game. By one hand, I prefer the Amiga/PC version. The Megadrive versions (including JP: Rampage) are only run'n gun games, well designed but repetitive. SNES version is more interesting but sadly unplayable without cheat as there is no password system. Amiga/PC version is more an action/adventure game with puzzles to solve. Graphics are well drawn, musics are just astonishing. They're not based on the movie soundtrack but they are very atmospheric, recreating the heavy atmosphere expected. And the 3D based sequences are a good surprise, a real 'tour de force' from Ocean, especially on ECS systems. A password system permits to restart the game from the last level explored. They really wanted to create an ambitious game, trying to follow the highness of the Spielberg's movie.
But by the other hand, The game is difficult and the level design is hazardous. It can be really frustrating too, especially when you die arbitrarily because of the T-Rex or after a too high fall. The game seemed to be difficult to adapt on ECS. Colors are drab so the scrolling does not follow and the character is often at the edge of the screen. Loadings are too much long and to be honest, the 3D part on ECS Amiga is a calamity. It looks like a rushed conversion.
By the way, this Jurassic Park game remains a nice aventure if you play AGA version with WHDLoad. Forget the ECS version if you don't have an accelerated Amiga.

Back then having amiga 500 I was dreaming to play 3d game like wolfenstain 3d, that I saw on friends PC. This game had 3d shooter elements but to get to it I had to play hard 2d levels. You won't belive how much adrenaline it gave me to beat first levels to be rewarded with 3d shooter! It was memorable.
Cause that 8/10 not too objective though.

The game looked very nice but the rest wasn't up to scratch. I don't think I ever got past the first 10 minutes before turning it off.

Apart from the 3D sections (which, like someone else said, are a complete disaster), I liked this game. The dinosaurs were beautifully drawn, the soundtrack was very nice and atmospheric, as were the sfx. Then again, like a lot of people in 1993, I was living with dinosaur fever, so I may have been a bit biased. I do remember it being a bit confusing and you ended up wondering where you were (which is never good).

This was a hard game for me and I never managed to run away from the tryceratops at level 2 (I didn't collect enough fruit), and it is really easy to lose your bearings in the jungle. But I liked it anyway because gfx and music were nice and finding my way through the jungle was a real challenge! I used to draw maps for that.

Well not a bad game . It could have been better in my opinion . You could get lost in the huge park very easy .The game was very boring and frustrating but sometimes very cool . 8/10

Even though this was quite possibly rushed because of the film, and probably not thought out very well, I liked it. It was diffferent and quite atmospheric with the music and graphics. It was even a little bit scary (well, if you were 11 at the time and had just seen the film)

Boooring as hell. Everytime I give it a try I become sleepy and after the play I am so tired and exhausted as if I was digging a hole in a backyard. The game has great graphics, especially in the further levels, very atmospheric music but the gameplay really sucks. 3D section is a disaster. Although it looks quite nice (for its times) and the movement seems smooth but pressing the key gives you so much speed that you feel like jumping not walking. Quite average game. Huge one, not for one night but anything worth remembering. For mega fans of Jurassic Park only.

Depsite it flaws I really enjoyed this game. The graphics were nice and the game itself was addictive. You could get lost quite easily, but that made me want to play it even more for some reason! 7/10.

This was truly an awful game in which Ocean had a run of the mill film tie in games that seemed doomed for the bin virtually everytime a mag reviewed it. Simple but dull in places, not very entertaining & yet a film license went to waste.

This was a bit of a dinosaur! I sat playing it so long I got a mega-sore-arse! Seriously though, it was a pretty dire attempt at such a successful movie. The action was exticnt!

Boring game - I always got stuck on the same bit.

The 3D sequences looked really good in magazine screenshots, but I never got to see them for myself because I never got through the first top-down level. It wasn't difficult... Just overly drawn out, pointless and dull - I'd always get fed up and switch it off. One of most disengaging, laborious, just plain *boring* games I've ever had the misfortune to play. Even if the 3D stuff is good, it couldn't possibly make up for the rest. 2/10.

Huge, huge arcade adventure. TOO huge. You got lost to the park too easily and it got at least to my nerves. Apart from that it's a fine game. Great graphics, sound effects and fine gameplay too. I never managed to finish it but I have mostly only good memories to of this game. 3D sequences were pretty nice but could have been better. They were probably made only non-extended machines in mind. And that horrible T-Rex was SCARY!

How can so many people be incapable of writing anything better than this? Horrendous controls, bland overly-mazy level layouts and remedial puzzles. The Doom-style 3D bits were good for their time, but don't really save matters.
