Jedi Bobster2017-03-05 This was always a fun one to put on for a quick half hour. Esp remember loving the jaunty music. Still unsure as to why they put Gazza in a red helmet on that first screen. View all comments (88)
doolittle2015-09-04 (10/10) This is a Masterpeice off fun and gameplay in every segment. Fun from the first game until you have finished it. Don't rage when you loose, you have to put some strategy to finish the game. Fun with 1 2 or 3 players. A pure gem. View all comments (86)
PopoCop2014-11-08 #ReTroViRuS: you have to win every race to continue game. You were second twice so you lost your credits and game was over... View all comments (89)
ReTroViRuS2013-10-12 (4/10) I don't get it. I easily won the first couple of races and maxed out my car in a couple of minutes. The game did indeed seem to be a bit on the easy side. Then I got two second places in a row which lead to an instant game over. What? View all comments (962)
Lagerfeldt2013-05-26 (8/10) Probably one of the best Super Sprint-ish games. I prefer Super Off Road to Badlands, Indy Heat, etc.
A bit on the easy side in 1 player mode, but multi-player is great. View all comments (33)
PortugueseWarrior2012-05-22 (7/10) Very good conversion from the coin-op. It's interesting how I always had the feeling that most Arcade -> Amiga conversions were badly handled but since I'm commenting here I actually find that more than a few were actually kinda great! This is almost a spot-on conversion handled very well by Graftgold. I have only two issues with this game: the repetitive ordering of the tracks and the "up for acceleration" control method. The first issue was also present in the arcade version itself, so it cannot be pointed as a fault of the Amiga version, but the second issue sort of keeps this game away from my favourites list. Would it allow for a "fire to accelerate" option and this would be better than Indy Heat, 'cos it has more depth. Still, this is a nifty little game! Just as Ivan Stewart seems to be doing himself: thumbs up! View all comments (211)
jonttu2009-08-06 (8/10) The Paradox intro is pretty sickish IMO, I hope too many kids weren't traumatized too much by it. I myself wasn't, fortunately. Actually, when I first saw it I was so young and stupid that I didn't even understand what was going on in it!
As for the game, the Amiga version of Super Off Road is pretty nice, and seems to be pretty close to the arcade original graphicswise. It is reasonably addictive and challenging to play too, so I'd say it is worthy of your time. I think a rating of 7.8 / 10 is reasonable View all comments (29)
gompedyret2007-11-23 (8/10) A game I am very fond of and spent much more time on than it actually deserved.
It's main appeal to me was the superior gaming controls and "feel". That made it a great game when you had a few minutes to kill. On the bad side, an awkward level advancement system forced you to play the same tracks over and over to unlock the later ones. This became boring a bit too fast.
And yes, the paradox intro still rules!
PS: My "pirated" edition had a bug which made the game exit when reaching level 6. As much as I played this game I never got to experience the tracks from 6 and up, so they became something of a mythic property. It was not until recently, almost 20 years later, I got to play all the tracks when I played it in WinUAE with cheat. Finally one of the mysteries of my childhood was revealed. Unnecessary to say, my eyes were all wet. View all comments (31)
Little Monkey Lost2007-08-29 A fine enough. These days this game don't turn me on, but it did 15 years ago... One of the better overhead racing games anyway. The meaning of paradox intro was probably to mock another cracking group named Angels, right? View all comments (250)
Makke2007-05-10 (9/10) Such a great racing game! A colleague at work can't stop talking about it. Oh, and the Paradox intro...even more classic than the game!
Yure2007-05-07 (7/10) Brilliant, it missed the steering wheel you had on similar coin-ops, but it absolutely enjoyable. View all comments (206)
elend2007-04-05 (8/10) Very funny and great game. I remember that I was amazed about how the car models look. They had that "realistic" touch to them. Dunno why, really! Very fun with a mate or two. View all comments (142)
squap2006-07-19 Great game. Very tough too. Had it's quirks but was ahead of its time for presentation. Good fun in multi-player too. Don't know why I always played as German! View all comments (94)
Tearaway2005-02-28 (8/10) One of those games no one seems to have a bad word for. Considering the game's depth, appeal and technical simplicity, and Graftgold's amazing skill, this was something of a sure-thing. There's barely a dull moment during these races, and the upgrade system works well, especially the unusual way you can 'buy' credits. View all comments (41)
Kriko2005-02-09 Great multiplayer fun, yes! And very similar to the arcade version, nice! And the Paradox intro... Well, some things are best left unspoken. View all comments (201)
MartinUK2005-01-11 (8/10) As a Supersprint game this loses out only to Super Skidmarks and Micro Machines, and even then it's arguably a better one-player game. As with Rainbow Islands it's a fabulous conversion by Graftgold, recreating all the great deisgn features of the original. View all comments (185)

Thought I'd be the first one. Damn you! View all comments (68)
Somehow the later and better game Skidmarks makes this game a lot less recommended. But for a while this was one of the best Super-Sprint style games going, and certainly one of the most accurate arcade conversions.
However, those who never bought it yet still played it are sure to remember the Paradox intro.... View all comments (105)
