Highly overrated pioneer of the games of its kind. As of 1987, graphics are nice, but the text parser is so weak that sometimes it is even difficult to check the surroundings. Some puzzles are illogical or so heavily difficult that I can't imagine how come this game became a success back in the days. In comparison with the first installment of "Larry" or "Space Quest" this one is very poor in the matter of gameplay and general entertainment it serves.

Ahhh. The old Sierra signature gfx! Was like the old Leisure Suit Larry but this was a bit more serious. I remember it having fun puzzles and playable enough.

One of the first games in this genre - or could this be the first one? I find the atmosphere of this game lovely. There are many funny puzzles and characters. The simplicity of this game is very charming.

Aaargh, King's Quest ... This series always gave me a heartburn because it's SO cliché, 'sweet' and politically correct to the bone, like a 'disneyfied' version of the Larry Laffer series, only without the silly jokes.
Seemed boring and annoying then and quite mediocre and very 'american' (in a bad way) nowadays.

This game is pretty good, I enjoy it very much.
This is a straight PCJR port, so this doesn't test out the Amiga's capabilities.

This episode is simple and has a charm about it - the graphics are fine.. Ignore those who complain about them! Plenty of games with flash graphics and a whole lot less gameplay than this around.

A classic Sierra adventure, but be sure to check out the far better KQ III, and as Trantor mentioned there is a fanmade (free) graphical update of KQ for the PC. Sierra's PC-to-Amiga conversions were sadly very straightforward.

A piece of history. Much better looking than the PC counterpart, but the loading times were a pain, as far as I remember. A friend of mine played and solved the whole series (not an easy feat for an Italian teenager)

The game that started it all! While still solid, the later released graphical update of this original KQ is the one to try.
