Really good flight sim, I played this a lot. Not quite as good as birds of prey though.

Where i would play Wings for the story and straight into the action arcade fun, this was the game i would hit up for a more serious and in depth WWI fighter. Great GFX for a bog standard amiga, and a lot of fun!

I couldn't stop playing this one... It was sooooo adictive. I finished in like 2-3 weeks and I almost cried when it was over. I got shot down a couple of times but I was released due to my exellent reputation.

Simply the best simulator I had on the Amiga. Played it *heavily*!

This was my favorite WWI flight sim on Amiga. I had a great deal of fun playing it. I remember wanting Red Baron but never bothered since the speed was in question and I had a slow Amiga. Not until Wings of Glory on the PC would I forget good old KotS. I eventually played Red Baron on the PC too and it was as awesome as everybody said. Still, Wings of Glory will still be my favorite WWI sim of all time. I just loved following close behind those gorgeous, although very low-res, enemy planes and watching this fly apart with my shots. I'd welcome a really great WWI sim with modern graphics. I have hope that a Battlefield game will do a WWI style in the future. They might as well!!
Anyway, KotS was really fun to play. I don't remember the difficulty level being high or low...probably pretty low since that would definitely appeal to me at the time. Sims almost never age well. I just bought 3...X3, Silent Hunter IV and IL-2 1946. It would be stupid to compare those to this. Heck, by today's standards (2008 ) IL-2 1946 is now old as the hills graphicswise. KotS doesn't look too bad in those screen shots. I'll have to give it another go and vote on it later.
Nice memories, anyway....

I loved this simulator! Haven't played it for over 10 years now, so I don't really know if it stands the test of time. Still, a wide range of airplanes, bases and missions to choose from, good graphics and good game play makes this a fine fine game in my book.

Wow. A score of 8.06 for this somewhat average flight sim?

A great simulation from Microprose. Extremely enjoyable. The title music by Alleister Brimble was also great. Completed this one a lot of times.

Really good game. Graphics were great and gameplay was even better. Nice touches on the menu screens with that old school feel. Only flaw was it was maybe a bit too easy. 8/10.

Nothing like Wings.. Except it's based on WWI.. I liked the intro music and attempted to play this game.. It wasn't all that much fun however imo.

THE WW I flight simulator for A500 owners. Amigians with more horsepower should stick with Red Baron.

A great game and a good variety of aircraft , aquired it when a friend realised his Amiga CD-TV couldn't play 1mb games and so I inherited this one, no where near as much fun as wings but still a good world war one game which is rare in itself.

I also agree with Trantor: this is the older, more serious brother to Wings, who marries early with some intelligent, serious woman while his younger brother is surrounded by all the good looking girls and parties all night long!

I agree 100% with Trantor. Sums the game up perfectly.

Amazing game, hours and hours of fun. Plus it worked with the null modem cable.

The more serious, but not as much fun, brother of Cinemaware's classic Wings.
