Poor movie, poor game. Sluggish title basically with no attachment to the movie - simple beat'em up in the resemblance of Double Dragon and Final Fight that lacks atmosphere.

By then they had just been acquired by Sony, so who can really blame them for it? Well, considering what company produced the movie perhaps...

Psygnosis lost their pride and enthusiasm in their last two years on the Amiga. They were more interested in the new, soon to be released playstation and then eventually disappeared altogether.

1994-1995 when psygnosis started going downhill for their efforts on the amiga as they shifted focus to the upcoming playstation, what with cliffhanger, dracula etc really bad half assed games, avoid!

This game was so lame; didn't like back then, and I still don't like. It's painful to play this crap, and that is not the name of the game! It's funny that this title wasn't released by Ocean; masters of crappy movie-based games.

Music is kinda cool, but the rest simply sucks. Last Action Hero it's not worth of your time, that's for sure.

A loud, slow moving, lacking, movie based game that is the same exact thing from start to finish. You walk slowly.. Beat up the characters with your fists that just punch in mid air. Knock em out. Do the same thing to the next wave of characters that show up. Move to next screen do the same thing.. Take on the boss at the end of the stage.. Repeat repeat repeat. That is the whole game. Somewhere in all this we are to believe it is based on the moments of the film.

It's a really awful game. That has loud music in the background, poor play controls, really dumb AI controlled characters and that deja vu feeling that we have done the same thing before as you go from round to round. It's a slow , unworthwhile experience that even the biggest fans of the film (not me) will get tired of fast.

Final Fight this isn't. It's a very poor mans version of it if anything that somehow tries to relate to the movie but fails at doing that as well. Bad graphics, bad music, slow and bad controls and you do the same thing from start to finish. That about sums up the game. Avoid.

A shame game but the most games of this genre are just as bad as this one.Play instead Motor Head or Golden Axe.

Making a side-scrolling beat 'em up out of Last Action Hero was not a bad idea at all IMHO. But hell, seven years since Double Dragon came out you would expect a development team to have a vague idea about what makes a brawler a GOOD brawler. Well no, they basically took Streets of Rage and turned it into a ridiculous ballet involving up to four baddies at a time who act absolutely the same.

You also get washed out sprites, ugly backgrounds, even uglier still images, so-so boss fights, no multiplayer, no weapons, not even the freedom to move across the levels!

A couple of good sides could be the decent hard rock tunes throughout the game and an AI that at least tries to have you surrounded. But anyway, you can pull through that with a little timing, by simply facing in the right direction as you keep the fire button pressed.

For once that they had the chance to design their own beat 'em up, rather than struggling to port an arcade game only to fail miserably, they flushed it down the toilet just the same. Makes me twice as angry, as I love the genre and had to keep spending money on Captain Commando and Cadillacs & Dinosaurs in arcades. And that was post-Sony-buyout Psygnosis, baby...

Abysmal. Pathetic. Monotonous. Putrid. Unplayable. Shameful.

Start game. Move right a bit. Hit fire. Repeat to fade... Then set fire to the disks. If you know anyone who paid for this extremely poor excuse for a "game", point and laugh at them. Until they punch you in the face. But that's still more entertaining than sitting through this garbage.

Wow! What the hell is going on here? I really DID LIKE that game. I always knew it's not the best game out there but I really liked it and thought that at least somone likes it, too. Boy was I wrong. I really would give it a 5 out of 10. The music just rawked!

Yes, the action certainly came last in this pathetic excuse for a game. Rubbish, jerky gameplay, crap weapons and crap enemies...Jack Slater can rot in hell for all I care

An awful game, probably one of the worst beat-em-ups on the Amiga ...
From the jerky animations to the unresponsive controls down to the ugly backgrounds :s

If you wanna play a good game of this type, go play Double Dragon or Final Fight instead.

Good in concept, an interestingly different movie idea, that should have converted well to a good platform game, instead the programmers went the beat em up route, with very limited success... 43/100 For Mine.

When the movie Last Action Hero came to the cinema's it was a BIG disappointment. The whole Schwarzenegger-frenzy made moviemakers believe that all movies with the Austrian in it would become a blockbuster. Sadly not, and like the movie this game is also a big disappointment. Graphically reasonable and sonically very crap. Your character has a few simple moves to kick all enemies to pieces and that's it basically. The same opponents keep coming back and coming back and after 10 minutes you ask your self why the hell you are wasting your time like this. Leave well alone!

Graphics: 7/10
Sound: 5/10
Playability: 5/10

Overall: 5/10
