I echo Sunichiro's comment. Looks impressive, game engine is an improvement over Monkey Island etc, but far too much aimless trial and error. The little pixie wants something GOOD, that's the only clue you have. His house is full of junk and gold. So try giving him stuff, untill you get the right thing - but you can only carry so much in your inventory. The only solution is tiresome trial and error and back and fourth, this is a theme of many puzzles. Trail and error is not logic. The castle area to the end of the game dissapointed me a great deal, no real challenge just try each stone in the amulate till something works, this was it for me, I had enjoyed it for a time, I even enjoyed mapping the caves, until I saw the truth. If it were a relationship, it's like that really good looking person you've admired for ages, then you get a chance to get to know them, and you realise they're an idiot.

This is a very good adventure game with intuitive and original interface. Possibility of putting down the items from the inventory is rather unique even nowadays. Plot is nice, riddles are logical. I am not complaining about the caves because I found them quite intriguing and challenging but not annoying. It's a pity that the second installment didn't make it on Amiga because the first is quite an interesting feat in Amiga environment. Recommended.

Brilliant adventure game, definitely the best in the series(the third one with Malcolm being the worst). The last time I played this game was in 1992 when it came out, so I have forgotten the puzzles and the story. So for me it’s like playing a brand new adventure game (Yay!).
What sets this game apart from other adventure games like those from Sierra and Lucasarts is the ability to drop items on the screen, this adds a nice touch of realism. I must admit I enjoyed the Grotto Maze section of the game and didn’t find it that difficult at all (tip: label each fire berry screen with a unique number on your map eg: f1, f2, etc. Then when you save your game at a fireberry screen, label your savegame after that, it just makes it easier). I liked the maze because it made the game longer and enjoyed figuring it out, after who wants and easy adventure game that is over too quickly?
So all in all, a very good game. I only wish they made games like this today: 2d hand draw graphics, atmospheric music, good story, what more can you ask for?

A decent adventure game with quite a lot of personality. I have only ever played the DOS version though. The whole Kyrandia series is pretty good, and something that makes the series a little bit original compared to most other adventure games is that you can quite freely drop items from your inventory in various places. Usually in point-and-click adventures, whenever you add an item to your inventory, you will keep hold of it until you use it or give it away.
The danger to this feature, though, is that it's quite easy to drop something where you shouldn't, and can get yourself into an unable-to-complete state. My advice is to save frequently, using a few different save game slots!
Overall, very good presentation with well-drawn graphics, nice animation and atmospheric music. Along with an interesting range of characters and decent storyline, what you've got here is a pretty good adventure game!

Very good adventure. PC version looks a bit better though. (84%)

I liked this but only for a certain amount of time.. Nice GFX however.

I prefer the PC version to this, the Amiga was missing most of the great music the PC had, making the cavern mazes an absolute bore. Anyway, you gotta be so careful in this adventure, its so easy to pick up a valuable objects and drop it in a river or gouge something, to make the entire adventure Unfinishable.

After making my way through the Serpent Grotto (took me days!), I realised I had forgotten something on the other side.

Too bad that the sequels were never released on Amiga.

First I was impressed by the game. The conversion looked really good and didn't suffer from problems of most PC to Amiga ports (even though you had to have a hard disk to enjoy the game). Then, I saw the wood for the trees. Kyrandia is rather boring, forced and stars the most apersonal adventurer ever.

The Serpent Grotto cave was the *most* frustrating and difficult maze I've ever had to go through in any adventure game. And also the most unforgiving one.

Superb game! Only one weak part was caves walktrough, which was boring and tiring. 9/10.

Westwood put their usual high level of effort into this Amiga port. The graphics are gorgeous, the disk swapping (as mentioned) more than tolerable and the story fun. Malcolm is the best villain since the Joker.

The first point-and-click adventure I ever played, and one that I did eventually complete. The puzzles were generally well-balanced, fair and increased in difficulty - the only annoying one was the placing of the gems, which was an exercise in trial and error. The graphics were lovely as well, and the disk-swapping tolerable considering that there were 9 disks - some time had obviously been put into file-organising. It's not as amusing as the Monkey Island games, but I've still got a lot of fondness for it.

This is one of my favourite "point and click" adventures. It had beautiful graphics and a really nice story as well - if my memory serves me correctly
