This was one of the first games I loaded into my A500 when I bought it so I've got some fond memories of this game. It came with the Ten Star pack and was number 1.

Soundtracker was Karsten Obarski's first finished software ever. The very
first game which used its playroutine was "Amegas", programmed by a friend of his who asked him to provide the music: Guido Bartels.

Good breakout with unique power-ups system (you can activate last collected powerup when you need it with RMB, even AFTER you lose a life, which means you can save the powerup for the next level as well), it has a nice title music, but very bad collision detection routine. Ball often goes through enemies and even through the bat.

Among the plethora of games of the same type, this relatively unknown title actually stands pretty strong among the best, especially because of the excellent mouse-based playability. The levels soon become a bit repetitive tho. (7)

I remember this. I had it in some game collection disks and it often loaded with graphical errors. Still, when it loaded well, this was a very good "Arkanoid" clone, better than the Amiga version of Arkanoid itself. Rather enjoyable game with a very good and fast mouse-controlled playability.

Amegas was one of the first really slick games that utilized the power of the Amiga. The majority of games before Amegas were straightforward 68000 conversions, developed for the Atari ST, not written in Assembly code and often plagued by jerky movement.

Amegas was the first of a series of smooth European games that were developed for the Amiga. Not long after Amegas, Crystal Hammer and many other European topgames followed, such as the productions of Factor 5.

Last but not least, this was one of the very first games featuring music created by Karsten Obarski, creator of the legendary Soundtracker music editor, which later evolved into Protracker.

Might have been good back then, but nowadays it's just one of millions of boring, useless Breakout clones.

Pretty boring looking, but fluent Arkanoid clone, which plays a little to fast in my opinion. Amegas is nothing new and nothing special, but not bad either.

A nice Arkanoid clone, but very fast an "catchy" to handle the ball.
Nice intro music either.

Good Arcanoid clone with some smooth playability.
It is remembered by its fantastic intro tune but Arkanoid conversion it's better.

One of my few Amiga originals and my favourite breakout clone. To me, the graphics look slightly better than those of the Arkanoids. Even after all those years I remember the title music. Yeah right, the Soundtracker-earworm ...

Hehe god I remember playing this when it came pre-packed with my Amiga 500 & I loved it, a good quality breakout clone on the Amiga & was never a boring game when it got fast & furious

Basic but playable Arkanoid clone... Features music by SoundTracker creator Karsten Obarski (instantly recognizable for those who used the ST- sample disks!).

Nice game Amegas, a lot like Arkanoid and the other breakout games on Amiga.

My fave Breakout/Arkanoid clone on the Amiga. And also one of the first Amiga games I played, as it came with the Tenstar Games Pack.
