This is new to me in 2020, found browsing lemonamiga, thank you. A lovely game, I've always been frustrated with point and click adventures, miss those 3 pixels on one screen and you are wandering about clueless for eons. I never saw the point. Loom is different, the manual states their aim is for people to enjoy the game and play through to the finish, not be frustrated by ludicrous puzzles and give up. I did finish in one sitting, and I did enjoy it, unlike Kyrandia. Simpler than most, but following through the story makes up for this. You cannot die or do anything to negatively affect progress which nurtures the sense of exploring and experimenting. I have introduced my inexperienced in gaming 10 year old daughter to this, she is enjoying it so far.

The first 16bit adventure game I've ever seen. The first of the genre which I've never like to play..

One of the games that grasped me more intensively ever. Unfortunately, it will only do so the first time around. It has a very limited replay factor. Plus, its so darn easy you'll probably finish it in your first go, but it's a lovely game nonetheless with a very endearing - tender, almost - storyline.

Loom was the first adventure game I tried to play to my Amiga but couldn't make it back then. I tried again a couple of years ago and finished it. It's simply magic!
Would be so great if Lucas Arts would finally make the whole trilogy as it was intended to be in the beginning...

Welcome to the age of the great guilds!
"Loom" is a beautiful, brilliant and highly underrated game. It has a wonderful deep story, interesting characters and the most fitting soundtrack I could imagine.
It's not an adventure in the traditional sense as gameplay mostly consists four-note-spells you have to cast.
The brilliant story has one of the most poetic endings ever - which sadly you'll have reached in a couple of hours even if you never played an adventure before.
But it doesn't matter: The game is awesome and everyone should try it.

I never understood this game, although I really wanted to. I played it after playing Monkey Island 1, which didnt help much. Should give it a try again these days, now that the whole world turned 3d..

I loved this game from the first time I played it on my A500 about 15 years ago... Didn't manage to finish it by the time, I don't remember why... But recently I played it over again and this time I didn't give up, I played it until the end...
When I finished I had the feeling that the game could be a little longer, but it was worthwhile playing it.
In my humble opinion it IS one of the best classics of the genre. The feelings the scenarios bring are great, you can feel the happiness or sadness in various parts of the game, didn't you feel sad when that last little leaf fell off the tree?
Great game!

One of the most impressive artistic achievements of its time. Like Chuckles, this was one of the few quest games I ever completed. I remember feeling like the end came too quickly, but that's a testament to how immersing the game was. A risky interface in that it hadn't been done in quite the same way before, but it worked flawlessly.
The ending was very sad, yet harmonious. I was riveted and couldn't believe what I just saw. In a videogame?? Yes, and it was brilliant.

I don't know what came up in my life at about the time I bought and played this one, but Loom is one of the few I never finished. I think I got this on the reputation of Lucasfilm/Arts and enjoyed it immensely while the play lasted. It did set standards in its day as far as game-creativity.

Truly enchanting! A little different to the other LucasArts point and click games, due to the lack of commands and inventory, but a very unique take on adventure gaming. Beautiful musical score too.
Admittedly, when I first came across Loom I didn't actually think it would be anything particularly special, but after giving it a go I quickly grew fond of it. There is even a difficulty choice, so that regardless of whether you are pitch perfect or tone deaf, you can enjoy the game!
This is yet another LucasArts classic that I just wish I had come across sooner.

What a nostalgic title Loom is - can still remember the puzzles and the way the story unfolded. Adventure games never did get much better than that!

While the english version is common as mud, the french version is rare
and very sought after (prices can rise up to 80 euros on ebay, i paid mine 60 euros).
A fantastic game, innovative and full of fantasy.
a 9/10 for me !

This is a gem! Very moody and good for beginners. By the word "nostalgia" this game comes to my mind.

Spectacularly original game, with a cool fantasy-like story blending magic and music. Once you get used to the game play you're hooked!

A unique interface for an adventure game, a touching and deep story, and memorable moments, together with a classic soundtrack for a legendary game.

I loved how you had to turn the sheep green to camoflage them so the dragon wouldn't see them. One of those games where you had to think outside the box and sometimes say "Why not try it?" when confronted with a puzzle.
I think I cried at the end - very sad ending but it left things open for a sequel. Did they ever make one?

This was the game that got me hooked on point-and-click adventure games... Well maybe after Zak McKracken. A true classic with a great storyline.

Loved this, it had good storyline with originality. Nice GFX for the time & something you knew that the likes of these adventure games could only get better in time & they did with the likes of Monkey Island.

Great atmosphere on this one and very original to boot. Wasnt your average adventure game! I remember it being short lived though but apart from that, it was another Lucasfilm goodie.

This was great its very short and easy but the plot is so good, plus it has a very dark and memorable ending.....

Though not particularly a fan of Secret of Monkey Island style of graphic point and click adventure I have to say I loved this game and played it until completed.. The graphics (featuring the usual lovely midnight starry sky) and beautiful soundtrack - couple with good puzzles and an engrossing storyline make this a classic. Play it! 8/10

Poetry in motion, that's what Loom was. Other than being an adventure you could actually play without having a user interface on the bottom part of the screen. And that added to the suspension of disbelief, like they call it nowadays... Cool, try it!

Has a very beautiful world to explore, and the interface is stripped to a minimum. Original adventure well worth playing through once, it's really an interesting experience even if it might not have that much replay value.

I loved this game - didint know anything about it and thought it was going to be average but it sucked me in very quickly and ended up being one of my all time best adventure gaming experiences.

I love this game. It's so dreamy and beautiful to behold that it's easy to immerse yourself in it's strange universe. To wield magic you need to remember, or write down (as I did) the musical combinations for the different spells. This made the game one of it's kind. I just recently played it through again, and the magic's still there over 10 years later. If you love point and clicks and good atmosphere: Look no further. Loom is a game for you.

Strange adventure where it has the Maniac Mansion/Zak Interface minus the commands, this idea leaves nothing but empty space on the bottom half of the screen (well some of it gets filled up after your find the magic staff). About 80% of the game is interactive movie, so you'll think the intro never stops. Still rewarding to finish though, but not a game to come too and play over and over again. Well my opinion anyway....
