This superb game doesn't get the recognition it deserves. Reviewers then and now seemed to think it would only be of interest to people looking for a motorcycle sim, which is surely a narrow constituency. In fact, it's more generally a brilliant racing game (and just a brilliant game). The perfect mouse control, the simplicity, the dipping screen, the speed, the full 3D, the music, make it the best racing game on the Amiga for me. Much more simple and pick up and play than F1GP, much more impressive than the spate of rear-view sprite-dodging type racers without real corners. I have no interest in motorbikes and found this gem genuinely exhilarating.

Quite simply the best motorbike sim on the Amiga.

You control it with a what now? Bought the game based on a fantastic magazine review but obviously missed the part about using the mouse to control the game. I thought I was never going to get around it but found it so easy to pick up and play. Ingenious

Was a great game, I think maybe the first that had the mouse as a controller in this way for me. Really smooth graphics on the A500 too. It was a shame when I upgraded to my A1200 that I couldn't get it to run... (Maybe check out WHDLoad, as that didn't exist back then ;o) )

Astonishing to look at. I couldn't believe my old A500+ was capable of producing smooth 3D graphics like this. The mouse controls worked perfectly. Excellent game. 8/10

Great game! Read my review to know more about what I think of this game.

Somehow I missed out on this one back in the day. This is a very good motorcycle racing game! More arcadey than Psygnosis' Red Zone, but also easier and more fun. The 3D graphics are among the best for the classic Amiga, gameplay is addictive, many tracks, different characters, fits on one disc, it's just perfect. Somehow I like motorcycle racing simulations more than car racing as it feels more immediate and because of the way you bank in the curves. Hard to believe now that there was a time when German outfits made top quality games, Thalion was one of those companies.

It's ok. I did like the mouse control for a change--this game takes a little while to adjust to, due to the 'mouse sensitivity' feature/control. Colors seem a bit more defined than in other Amiga racers.

I think the 3D said it all in this game. I was actually totally inept at it but just played it to see those lovely filled in polygons floating about the screen. Thumbs up for looks alone.

Bloody amazing... Just discovered this (one of those other lost gems, there are so many)...
The 3d in this game is AMAZING and super fast (on standard A1200). I couldnt believe it was an Amiga. Its like a snes FX chip!
Get this game now and play it, u wont be dissapointed!

An incredible racing game, with graphics that rival even Star Fox's in smoothness, if not in detail. The mouse-driven control is a perfect substitute for a pair of handlebars, giving the balance between speed and precision that only analog steering can provide. A word of warning to laptop users, though: No Second Prize is a nightmare to play using a touchpad!
Worth getting if only for the spectacular 3D intro, which would have been popular as a tech demo in its own right.

'no second prize' is the story of thalion having a go at the motor bike racing genre on the amiga, and guess what: it's the best of it's kind. Period.

Aw, come on! Pretty smooth, but I'll choose a poorly animated sprite-based racing game like "Super hang on" over a game where your veichle is represented by a crude assembly of blocks that completely sweeps away all illusions of an actual race. Innovative for its time, but hopelessly outdated

Fast and thrilling.

Oh, this game brings back some memorys being on vacation at my grandmother in Finland, brought the Amiga along and bought an Amiga magazine at the local supermarket. On the Amiga magazine were two coverdisks.. One of them contained the demo of this game.. The music just gives me goosebumps. Just played that demo of the game.. :/

Probably the best racing sim on the Amiga. As others have said, it has SPEED, which is sadly lacking in some other 3D sims... A great, great game.

It's all about the speed baby. And NSP got it. Combined with great graphics and cool music this is one of the better vektorgraphics games out there.

Like stated earlier, overlooked....
This little gem really gave me a sense of speed!
After a few practice rounds I really got hooked on it. The controls may needed some practice but once under control it was a real joy to play!!

I must admit for the time this game out it was one of a kind, nice enough GFX but not brilliant, but the gameplay & nice framerate made up for all that.

Technically brilliant! Very smooooth, never seen better Framerate and speed-feeling racing game on an A500! Nice sound and playerstats... Many many different tracks. 10/10

Superb and ingenious take on the underused motorcycle racing genre. Remarkable game for its time.

An overlooked classic, until suzuki racing on the dreamcast there was no motor race game which gave you the true feeling of driving a bike like this one..the speed, the camera, how it led you to activily dive with the bike in real life..shame I can't get it to work on emulation

Thalion could do no wrong around the time of this one. It gives you a fully realistic motorcycle racing experience, without either babying you through the riding or making it unfairly hard to complete a race without crashing. Practice really yielded rewards in this one.

Had an essential element in any racing game. Speed. Lots of it.
The graphics were not too impressive, the controls took a bit of getting used to but give me this over Super Hang-On any day.

A real novelty back in those days, and extremely entertaining. It was fun, pretty enough and, more importantly, very addictive, once you got the hang of the controls. Another great effort from Thalion.
