For a quick blast of Bubble busting fun Pang was your game. Colourful, bouncy, fun music and a good level of difficulty.

Another game that belongs to much older HW. Anyway, game system is still the same, so it should be still the same fun

Pang was the outstanding achievement of Ocean France, and also one of the best action games to ever appear on the Amiga.

If all conversion for the Amiga were as good as the ones made by Ocean France, then the Commodore Machine would have been considered an arcade games powehouse. Pang incorporates the Amiga look and feel rather than being a pixel perfect translation and still retains the addictive puzzler-shoot'em up gameplay (8/10).

A great game in the arcades masterfully converted. 9/10.

Amazing and almost-same-as original game conversion! I can deffo say that the graphics are lookin kinda better on the AMIGA!
Even if a song wasn't converted for AMIGA format (the London/Maya bgm was replaced by the Mt Fuji one at the start) the music was pretty much enjoyable than the original game aswell!

The game is great especially for two players. But I rate ST version higher.

Yes! I just finished Pang on "very difficult". It took many, many tries. When I finally arrived on the Easter Island, I was on my last life. I was so nervous. Now I am really glad I persevered through it all. It had been my dream to beat the game on all difficulty levels since I first played it more than 20 years ago.

Somehow the Amiga version of Pang improved the original arcade game. Simply to pick up, extremely addictive and never gets old.

One of the closest arcade conversions I know of on the Amiga. You'll come back time after time for more crazy cutesy punishment. Simply brilliant!

Superb conversion.
About as close as you can get to having the arcade version in the home, without actually buying an arcade cabinet or Supergun setup!

Absolutely amazing game! One of my top favourites ever! I also loved the arcade and the ZX Spectrum versions but, overall, the Amiga version takes the cake. Congrats, Ocean France! Very well done!!! Read my full review to know more about what I think of this.

Brilliant game and completely addictive. One of my top ten
favourite Amiga games.

Brilliant game, very original and complete with countries scenarios as background, is a refreshing game that always made me happy when play, good music and very fun in 1 or 2 players, a classic that will never be forgotten...

The result is pretty good however I always prefer the arcade version before. The framerate is slightly lower than the arcade so the gameplay suffers a little and the movement of the bubbles can be improved. The first Athens level the bubbles don't have the unpredictable bounce of the arcade version.

As noted below, during my review the aspect ratio of the arcade version looked much taller on my test system. On closer inspection, this was a dip switch issue, and really the video ratios are about the same. I also noticed the little spaceman appears on the amiga version too - I never saw that before! Appologies.

There are two reviews, which I think have their own merits each one - although I prefer the Lifeschool one.
But the one made by Lifeschool has a major error which I have to correct. It reads:
- "(...)First and most obviously, the resolution of the graphics has taken a dip on the Amiga version compared to its Hi-Res big brother. This means the balloons are much larger in size on the Amiga, and the whole screen has been flattened to compensate. Yet compared to it's decidedly Lo-Res ported counterparts,(...)"
Actually this is not true! The Arcade Version is 384×240px and the Amiga is 320x256. The programmers just shrink the wider graphics to a more thinner (84%), but in reality on screen it all looks the same. If you don't believe just do that exercise, shrink the arcade screenshot to 320 px while maintaining the height, and compare - they're pretty much the same.
The Amiga doesn't have so many colours as the arcade version, but then again, thanks to the graphic work on the palette, it's hardly noticeable. So in the GFX dept - it's near perfect arcade conversion.

Accessible, fun and great difficulty curve, with slick graphics and memorable and catchy music.
Me, my mum and my grandparents all loved this game and went on to own it for a number of other platforms, though the AMiga was always the best.
The music from the St Petersburg level is still stuck in my head twenty year on aaargh!
Looking forward to downloading this and giving it some time again when I get chance...

Come on.. Its PANG! Who doesnt enjoy PANG?!?! Simple, fun, with ditsy arcade music! You cant go wrong!

I thought the game quite nice, graphics-wise. Playability's another thing. At times button response seemed unfair; not reacting to button presses at times resulted in the players knock-off.

The first time I ever played this was at an arcade, and then when a friend got rid of their Amiga they gave us all their games, and this was one of them. I was pleasantly surprised with it. I didn't think it was anything special in the arcade, but after getting into it more on my own computer I got quite addicted. Good fun!

Sometimes, simple = better and in Pang's case this is a real true-ism. Shoot bubbles in a play field so they part in two smaller ones untill they get so small they will disappear when shot. This sounds simple and so it is. And it is bundles of fun! In one-player mode you will have a great time, but with a friend Pang really becomes hilarious! Pang originally was a coin-up and this Amiga version is an identical copy. Graphics are perfect, sound is funny and gameplay is superb! This is one of the Amiga classics in my opinion.
Graphics: 8/10
Sound: 8/10

I used to love playing this in the arcades putting my 10 pence piece in the slott and then bought this for the amiga exellent conversion almost arcade perfect graphics.Yet again this shows what the amiga was capable of compared to some of the utter trash that was released for the system.
Graphics -9.5
sound - 8
Gameplay- 10

This is how to do a game. Perfect playability and no unfair traps or dodgy collision detection. The choice of difficulty levels is a nice touch too. One of the best Amiga games of any genre.

A simply brilliant game. Easy to play but hard to put down, either on your own or with a friend. You can lose hours in its simple bubble-bursting gameplay. Timeless.

Perfect conversion of a perfect coin-op!

Yet another score one for Ocean for a great arcade conversion. Won't comment on the fact that this game is actually Buster Bros., and how much the main character looks like Goku at the level end screens, but Ocean should have made more arcade conversions (And not like that awful Amiga conversion of NARC.), and damn Ocean, not crediting Capcom for their original game.

Example of the perfect conversion.
Great game, but sometimes nerve-wracking...
I HATE DYNAMITES!!!

Awesome, unique game - and so irritating at times getting a weapon you didn't actually want! Was always hard getting friends to play this at first, but they soon became addicted like me.

Pang is a great game, a bit similar to Ooops Up. Travelling across the world including my country Australia shooting those balloons with different weapons to pick up. I like the way they show pictures of all of the cities and villages across the world, absolutely brilliant. I really love this game. Excellent graphics, great sound FX and magnificent tunes.

Yes, a great conversion! I still remember my two player matches, with my friends. A lot of fun, I will never forget, thanks Ocean!

Yep this was a great conversion of a great coin op .. Which is easily understandable since pang didn't have awesome graphics or sound.. It had something far more important , originality!

Yeah I remember playing this time after time until Oops Up came out n I immediately switched. But along with Nightbreed this was one of my all time favourites

Fell prey to this one! It ambushed me, pulled me in and wouldn't let me go for weeks! Who thought popping bubbles could be such fun? On the conversion level too it was arcade perfect but then again, it wasn't NASA technology so it just goes to show playabilty wins in the end!

Great conversion of a very enjoyable game, this demonstrated that Amiga games could be as good as coin-ops. But in the end they weren't, and we ended up drowning in a sea of crap arcade conversions... *sigh*

One of the finest arcade conversions ever made. Superbly done on Amiga and makes you wonder why other arcade games weren't so well converted

I know that this was a great game and absolutely perfect coin-op conversion but I didn't liked it. I was just too slow for this game...
Nevertheless, I give it 8/10, because I know that it's great game and don't want to lower the score.

Very fine conversion (almost perfect!) of the brilliant arcade game.
The action is fast, the visuals are good and everything is exciting and entertaining. The best is playing it with a friend. Very good game indeed.

Arcade conversion perfection! Better than the original coin-op, especially in the sound department. Nice palette changing tricks to display more than 32 colours on each screen. If only Pierre Adane had converted a few more games or actually released his Snow Bros conversion...

This is one of those games that you either like or don't like. It is addictive and fun. If you like this game, check out Ooops up! Too, which is almost identical.
