Pinball Magic is not a realistic pinball simulation, and that is fine. I quite like the colorful art on display here. It might not feel like real pinball, but it is playable and moderately entertaining. I just wish Loriciel had worked on the sound a bit more. The game sounds like a defective drum machine. No catchy jingles and effects to get your adrenaline flowing in this one.

Playability isn't as good as the older Pinball Wizard. The idea of unlocking and moving on to the next tables is great, but there's no continue, password or save function, so anytime the game's over you restart at the first table.

This was the very first pinball game I ever played. I don't think it's that bad, although far from the best of course. The idea of opening exits to get to another table was a good one, but there are unfortunately little things to do on them. And most importantly : the ball is very difficult to control, making the playability much worse than it could have been. Still it's OK.

Before PINBALL DREAMS/FANTASIES this was the best pinball sim. (65%)

Loses out even to Pinball Wizard. This game lacked the addictive quality a pinball game should have. And I like classic tables without gimmicks!

Granted, before Pinball Dreams/Fantasies/et al came along this was probably a reasonable game.
But in the modern world when every ADF costs nothing to download why download a Skoda when you can go and download a Ferrari?
This game has aged very badly. In fact it's grown white hairs like those strange mutant dog turds you see from time to time.

People have been harsh on this so far. I've got fond memories of it, one I could play while still in plaster. The ball physics are good, the table designs quite nice, and the way it flows into other, tougher tables is a nice touch. What it lacks visually it makes up for in charm, and while it's no match for the more famous later pinball games it deserves a chance.
