I'll have to agree with the Computer Gaming World review, where it asserts that the Plan 9 game doesn't quite draw the line between intentional and incidental displays of mediocrity. Some inconsistencies seem to pay homage to the shoddiness of the movie, such as hilarious non sequiturs in the dialogue, the Tor Johnson and Vampira lookalikes to save on casting budget(!), and the Brazilians looking like Mexicans and speaking Spanish.
Other times you can't really tell: for example, the game uses a narrative stratagem for restoring dropped items, but you keep being forced to do so by the limited inventory and many red herrings, with hugely annoying backtracking in tow. And still, it is quite possible to unknowingly end up in walking dead situations (but hey, that could be a movie reference after all). There is even some footage from the film, including the scene with the infamous "Inspector Clay is dead. Murdered. And somebody's responsible!" line, except it's completely silent and without subtitles, so you cannot savour it unless you've got the version with the VHS or have previously seen the film.
The interface is a step backwards from that of Deja Vu (1987), and I really don't think that was intentional.
It's not one of the longest adventures, but its humour kind of holds the interest. I especially liked the reference to Paul Hogan's humble beginnings as a bridge rigger

I enjoyed this game, but I got stuck pretty fast. Clicking around through still images is not my best motivation either. However, stumbling over this game opened my eyes to Ed Wood and his "masterpieces".

Good adventure game. Has humour and good controls and amusing characters (especially Tor).
However four things harm this game and prevent it from being truly memorable:
1-Settings, they are limited and rarely capture the feel of the movie or the 50's.
2-Commands, some of which is completely useless (ex: "Hit"), which begs the question "why?".
3-Story/goal, which involved finding reels of film, a good diea but could have been better, perhaps closer to the movie itself.
4-Ending, which is terrible, and has nothing to do with what one has spent the whole game doing.
Over-all, worth playing but not remembering.

The whole original movie can be seen through google video. It is REALLY disaster

I remember this game got slated in the mags but adventure games appeal to me & even though it was based on a terrible b grade movie, I think it looks OK from screenshots

Great adventure! The game box included a VHS copy of the original movie!
Crazy (genius) idea!

A surprisingly good game based on probably the worst movie ever made.
