I think this was my favorite of the Gold Box Games.

Was not happy with the final battle. It comes at you in 3 waves and is really impossible without running. However you can continue playing with an additional challenge after the proper ending, making this game linger on and on and on. That's what we want right?
9/10 Haywire

My favourite SSI game, the only on I ever finished. I loved the slightly melancholic athmosphere. Oh, the times before the internet... Actually drawing maps yourself...

Not as colorful as the PC version, but it looked and played better, thanks to the "save" and "load" buttons in the camp menu. One could drop characters without saving or deleting them from disk, which made playing Dave's Challenge at the end of the game a lot easier.
The whole game had a nice, dark end-of-days flair and IMHO, hence, a better story than "Dark Queen of Krynn".
For me the best of all of SSI's Gold Box ADD games.

Excellent RPG! Never got very far in the game, but nevertheless I liked it!

Pools of Darkness ended the Pool series with style. Dark and challenging, it wasn't a walk in the park. Amiga version was bit of a mixed bag graphically but that's about the only negative thing about the game.
