A solid little puzzle platformer. It's not going to win any awards for looks (it reminds me of early DOS VGA titles) and the controls could do with a bit of tightening up, but the gameplay is solid and it is generous with lives and time, at least in the early levels. Definitely a game I will come back to.

Very good game, it is still a lot of fun. Enjoy!

An excellent game.
Technically very well executed : smooth scroll, good playability, nice music and graphics.
The difficulty is progessive.
(9/10)

P.P. Hammer is a quite obscure game but it is nonetheless one of the best platformer/puzzle games on the Amiga. It is technically quite nice if unimpressive and offers a lot of fun thanks to a good level design and an original and well implemented concept albeit controls should have been thought not to require function keys. Hidden gem (7/10).

Simple, smooth, well thought out and well programmed. The graphics may seem a bit dated but, in a way, they do lend a special charm to the game. But, of course, this is only the case because the game is rather good. The level design is exceptional and should be subject of a case study. The SFX and the music are entertaining and very well crafted, adding to the whole atmosphere of the game. There are a few "politically incorrect" bits (like PP starting to smoke when you don't move him for a period of time), but they ALSO add up to its irresistible charm. And who doesn't love PP's "victory dance" each time he reaches his goal?
The difficulty curve is well balanced, even if it becomes quite steep on the later levels. There are a few annoying bits and bops here and there (falling platforms, hidden teleport portals or traps, etc) but nothing that ever ruins the overall experience.
In short: one of the Amiga's most original platform puzzlers and a very charming, lovable one at that. Highly recommended.

An interesting platform-puzzle game that constantly mixes the sublime with the ridiculous. A great idea that's obviously been influenced by games such as Lode Runner, it is initially enjoyable and quite addictive too. However it veers too much into Rick Dangerous territory with invisible traps, teleports, walls and the like that you have no way of avoiding, causing it to become immensely frustrating. However there's loads to it, it's got a lot of character and the controls work well. Level design-wise it's one heck of a mixed bag and I suppose how much you enjoy it depends on how patient you are.

Still my favourite platformer [maybe ex aequo with Elf and Rayman]

I must agree with Little Monkey Lost sentiment.
The game itself is quite in its game-play, and has nice graphics and decent music.
It's also enjoyable to play...for a little bit. Eventually however the game becomes monotonous, even frustrating. It's not due to increased difficulty, rather one just gets tired of the whole concept of the game. The endless running around and drilling, all in the same repeating four or five level designs.
I played for about 21 levels, over two days, and eventually had to quit the whole game. I just can't imagine playing this game for a whole 70 levels. I simply stopped caring very fast over the character and his quest.

This could be a good game but for some reason I thought that it was actually stupid and irritating. But I liked it for a moment before getting tired.

Cute game with great music! Don't think I ever quite finished it, because I sold my original copy of it along with my Amiga 500 (before buying a 1200).

Legendary Amiga game! Some nasty, almost sadistic levels and puzzles but also a game with a lot of humour. I played it a lot and finished the game in a few weeks. This is the best platform puzzler ever made!

What's funny with this game is the bad english. With sentences like: "The ice-cavern has waiting a long time for a hero like you" - and "Welcome in Egypt" ;>

I think after strenuous playing I managed to finish this little fiend of a game! Had to keep playing to see the next level. Again, aurual and visuals nothing special but a cracking wee puzzler/platform. Actually put me in mind of Lode Runner. Two thumbs up.

Addictive! Funny! Great music! Cute graphics! And very good gameplay!
Many nice ideas like the LEGO-bonus-levels, P.P. Hiding under his hat when crawling, the level-exit-dance and so on. Great!

Now this is something special, like: It's one of the most underrated and forgotten games of the Amiga history. It certainly deserves more attention. Graphics are neat, sounds appropriate, music atmospheric, controls nearly perfect, attention to detail amazing. But what makes this especially special is the way it plays, the gameplay, the exemplary combination of platform and puzzling. It's so addictive and well put together that I can't appreciate it more. Other great features are password system, 60+ levels, hint papyruses scattered around the levels and digging element provided. Very well game.

Very very original and funny. The second level music is one of the best sounds I ever heard from an Amiga game.
