The mystery still remain... Can the tree trunk at the end be lifted and smashed on Predator and you get actually ending for the game? Many says no but... They said the same about european C64 version of Predator. Yet it was proven to be wrong later... Is this the case with Amiga version too?

I thought this was quite good back in the day, I had it for the C-64 not as good as for the Amiga version that's for sure

I actually quite liked this game when I was younger.
It was only years later that I found out it was so badly written that the rope you need to pick up on Level 4 to raise the log isn't there (the log is there, but no rope), so you can't actually kill the predator and win the game.
Instead all you can do is walk to the end of level 4 and get a game over screen.
Terrible!!

The first game booted up on my brand new Amiga Christmas day and I loved it... Until i booted up the next game, and then never really played it again HAHA! Very average... But fond memories because it was the day I got my Amiga

Quite average shooter with mediocre graphics. Controls are a bit sloppy, too. (59%)

This was truly awful. Trying to shoot a single baddie had you pressing the fire button and pushing up, down and right! Then you were dead. I actually was a masochist who played this to the end, just to be killed by the predator in the blink of an eye. Pathetic. And the commy 64's sucked!

System 3 manager mark cale emphasised how much detail had gone into the design. The team, hot off the first 'last ninja' had even clocked the reloading times of every weapon in the movie. The game itself was based on the exciting premise that the player would enter the film's narrative when all of arnie's mates had already been skinned.

the C64 version came out first and was lauded for technical proficiency. Although an st-screenshot that had been rushed to various mags looked like a visual improvement proper, it seemed dubious that the cartoony style fitted an allegedly hard-edged game based on arnie. Needless to say, neither 16-bit format was pushed in any way.

they were entirely underwhelmed from a technical point of view.

as for the game itself, the original c64-feeling had been retained, yet one must wonder if such a move was all too smooth after all.

the horizontally scrolling actioner is needlessy complicated. While the ability to aim high, level and low appears to add substance, it drains any sense of speed from the action as u r forced to hold still, aim carefully, pray and die anyway because of someone popping up from the ground. The variety of arms is intriguing on paper, but serves no purpose except making inevitable power-ups more interesting.

the film is good, classic fun. The game should have taken some liberties: increasingly scarier stages (featuring more squad members and hostages to be liberated) leading up to more ETs and the main critter

The fact that this game is based on a movie license should already have tingles creeping up your spine. Its exactly what it looks like: thrown together in an attempt to cash in on the popularity of the flick.

I have never played this game, but its sequel, Predator 2, was one of the worst games I ever played on Amiga.
