Lester12019-01-17 (9/10) I was too young when this first came out to understand the polygons/sprites distinction and why the people needed to be odd shapes with limited detail. But I still thought this was very good and atmospheric, and looking back now it's clearly and outstanding game by the standards of the day. A seminal game. View all comments (93)
Jedi Bobster2017-03-07 Well, it was different to the first two Robocop games...I'll give 'em that. I recall driving for a long time to the intro music of Epic. Then I recall thinking I was involved in some sort of training - but NO. Those were supposed to be actual people. View all comments (88)
doolittle2014-10-27 (10/10) Amazing for it's time, this game just wrote history of modern gaming ( fps and gta style), and it is a very good one to play even today. The US Box, as often, is wonderfull. View all comments (86)
rbn2012-09-01 (9/10) Very good and way forward by the time it came out.
By the time Doom came out and everyone was "hey what a great new type of gameplay" I always kept wondering till today why the heck noone knew this game (and some other games released on Amiga ... Some of them still during the eighties).
This is an forgotten classic with great presentation and atmosphere being true to the first movie released in a time where many games on Amiga pushed beyond Hollywood with movies that weren't even made these days (like IndyIV for e.g.) View all comments (165)
ReTroViRuS2011-09-05 (8/10) Being able to navigate a fairly believable virtual world in 3D was new to me back then. The driving sequences are also enjoyable. The beat ' em up mechanics needed some more work. Sadly, my A500 couldn't really handle jetpack finale. The framerate was so jittery I could never complete it. View all comments (962)
Patarival2011-02-24 (8/10) If I remember correctly, "Robocop 3" was developed quite some time before a third movie was even announced and therefore it is better than the film - much better.
In fact, "Robocop 3" is a great game. Sure, a normal A500 had a little trouble with speed but still the graphics look great, the level-design was great and it was fun to switch between different game modes.
The game takes a little to get used to it but once you "get it" it's truly a blast. And just think about it: This game pioneered a lot of stuff that became standard years later. Try it! View all comments (51)
Colonel Kurtz2010-11-30 (7/10) A game that was way ahead of its time, and that partly suffered the consequences of its originality and being a child of flight simulator specialists. It also did benefit from coming way before the terrible movie, which was being held back by Orion's financial strain. The game's story is likely closer to Frank Miller's script, before it was butchered and toned down (again) for the big screen.
With RoboCop 3, Digital Image Design delivered primitive implementations of features that would become some of the cornerstones of modern gaming: first-person shooting on a full 3D engine, free-roaming areas, absurd copy protection schemes ... Unfortunately several portions of the gameplay could have used some refinement. The on-foot FPS sections were particularly frustrating due to the inability to strafe and therefore to dodge grenades that were an instant kill.
Anyway, praise goes to DID for the courageous effort and still managing to make the best RoboCop Amiga game from the all-out worst RoboCop movie. View all comments (274)
danangleland2010-06-13 (8/10) I used to love playing this at a mate's house. Never owned it myself, but the 3D was exciting for me back then. We played the driving sequence almost exclusively. View all comments (45)

Bingo2008-04-10 (7/10) I really like this game too. It was very "state of the art" when it was released, and I agree with all the comments that it was a prequel to all the FPS games.
If I remember correctly, I didn't like the driving sections that much though... View all comments (11)
radioman9702008-04-03 (9/10) The majority of this title was a great deal of fun to play. I particularly liked the driving portions. But I always felt the fighting portion was a little frustrating. I'll have to revisit and see if I can do better on that. But overall this was a first rate title that really surprised me at how good it was.

ItsNotAllWalking2006-03-16 (10/10) WAY ahead of its time, this was my first experience of first person shooting and it had tension and atmosphere big time. The driving sequence was great as well, excellent 3D graphics and awesome sound, the other sections of the game I never bothered with but the shooting and driving parts for that age were legendary.
What a film license! The film was one of the biggest flops ever yet this game will be remembered as one of the defining Amiga moments, go figure View all comments (13)

Wolverine2005-06-23 Huge surprise when it was released as it was just totally different to yer usual movie license game. IPAndrews2005-03-21 (8/10) The fast 3D engine that was more or less wasted in Epic gets put to much better use here in a very loosely connected series of Robocop themed sub games. The driving and hostage rescue sections are particularly good. I once shot a terrorist in the nuts through a hostage's legs. I'd say that captures the Robocop spirit pretty well. MartinUK2005-01-07 (8/10) That dongle was another notorious example of an expensive anti-piracy mechanism which hampered legitimite buyers of the game (especially A600 owners, as the dongle wouldn't fit in the machine!), and jsut provided pirates with an extra-rewarding challenge. It's a shame the game's reputation is a little tainted by that, because it was a good effort overall, applying the multi-section-film-license concept to some stunning 3D action.
