It could have been a somewhat decent action game but it's mainly ruined by three things:
1. The constantly respawning baddies
2. Average controls (some critical jumps will get you mad more then once)
3. Having to restart at the beginning of the level after each death. It doesn't get anymore frustrating than this.

Floaty jumps and very strange control ruin this.

Frustrating and unfair. Crap controls and bland graphics.

I quite enjoyed this, against expectations considering that it's another generic Ocean film license, but somehow the gameplay works better than usual. Not spectacular, but just about manages to stay out of trouble. Fun trying to play it while in plaster...

Nuke is the best for all life problems!

I think I had more enjoyment out of shooting the hostages than actually playing this game. Your Robocop, with the endless supply of bad guys honing down on you constantly. Poor.

The worse the RoboCop movies, the better their tie-ins.
Graphics are still a little bland, maybe slightly better than the job they did with Midnight Resistance. The distinctive Special FX/Karen Davies 'dark' tone is there, which is okay, but RoboCop needed a more "metallic" feel, if you know what I mean (and you do if you've played any Bitmap Brothers games). Anyway, it surely renders the violence of the RoboCop movies much better than its predecessor. Digitised stills from the movie are also done much better.
I think the real downside of this game is that it has only three 'regular' levels, though the bonus games are really nice. I found the difficulty bearable (and by no means am I a pro), aside from a few leap-of-faith jumps and some rather awkward controls for jumping + multi-directional shooting. I guess trade-offs are inevitable when insisting on using one fire button. If you try the levels frequently enough to memorize their structure, you'll eventually pull it off.
There's also a glitch that gives you more of those guys in a red jacket that you must save for extra energy and lives. When you encounter one, just go back so that you can barely see him waving: he should respawn just like the enemies do (that's why I wouldn't call it cheating

Great looking and sounding, tough but still compulsive. 8/10

Have only played it briefly but wasn't that impressed. The graphics are nothing special, the sound is only average and the gameplay is a bit repetitive and annoying at times. Not as good as the film, and even that was only average.

FAR better than its predecessor, it had stunning graphic, great sfx and good playability. Worth a try.

Why does Robocop have such big tits in this game?

Could be infuriating sometimes but the graphics were great and it was, for me, one of the better platform shoot-em-ups going on the Amiga. Huge step up from Robocop on the Amiga and a step up on the original coin-op also. 7/10

With a little persistence it is completable; controls for jumping can take some getting used to. Definitely enjoyable though, and the 'firing range' and 'circuit repair' mini-games between levels are excellent. Ultimately, a good looking game and quite satisfying. It hooked me enough to complete it more than once.

Looks way much better than its predecessor, I mean look at the GFX and sound, its like we travelled from 1989 to 1994 or something yet this game was out in early 1991. They did good work on this one, again another good sequel

Looked the way it's predecessor should have, but what the hell was the difficulty level all about??? I think you needed Robo's reaction speeds to get anywhere in this one! I think if they toned down the level of difficulty this could have been a stormer. As it stands I felt slightly ripped off paying for a game that I only seen the first couple of levels of! Still, it looked good and the sound effects were beefy enough but just too taxing to be enjoyable enough.

Nice graphics, hard game to play, but overall loved it.

Miles better than 1, loved it just for the coke cans that had different effects. Very tough.

Superb game.
Not for beginners because a bit hard. But I will usually play it to the end in the second try. Only jump&run level 2 is at one point a bit unfair (jump between platforms).
PAL version is easier due bug with hostages and gaining extra life.
Great graphics, great sound and superior coding.
Tons better than RoboCop 1!
