Second Samurai is the best Amiga game in the beat'em up / hack 'n slash / platformer genre. The artistic direction is simply amazing and renders perfectly the retro-futuristic and feudal japanese setting of the game. Second Samurai is a great improvement over is predecessor in gameplay terms as well. Controls are much improved even though there is still no use of two fire buttons. Options are plenty, difficulty level can be perfectly tuned by the user, passwords at the end of each level are confortable. Second Samurai is one of the action games positively defining the Amiga (9/10).

Sadly the AGA cracks for this game don't seem to work with any extra memory plugged into the A1200, and the WHDload version suffers from unforgivable slow downs.
So if you want the best from the AGA release pull the expansion out your 1200 and play one of the ADF cracks (there aren't many).
The game itself is seriously one of the best platformers on the Amiga.

Lovely sequel from vivid image with great gfx, sound AND gameplay - they sure put a lot effort into this one.... 8.5/10

Almost flawless sequel to an already very good game. One of my late favourite on the good ole Amiga.

Bears some similarity to the Double Dragon series but I like the graphics here better. Can be difficult--at least for me...
Is there a manual for this game?
Other than a few annoyances, when the thing gets going, it's a good one--very enjoyable.

Very easy to get into and very fun - one of the few I completed.

I'd say this was one of the best co-operative 2-player games on the Amiga. Me and my nephew would have a ball playing this together. With the right joystick this game had some player movements with a nice natural flow. Very well designed. The enemies were visually appealing and fun to battle.
I got the first game after this one. I've always favored this sequel.
9/10

Played it a lot! I remember reaching the "future world" and the one after it but I am not sure I ever completed it.. In any case its a wonderfull platformer which u can play with a mate since its also a 2 player game! Really really good!

Decent game with some nice touches, although I liked the first one better for some reason.

Hmmm. Cant say I favour this over the First Samurai or vice versa as I played both immensley! This looked really nice and had some nice level design and oodles of playabiltiy. Still never knew what the big clockwork robot was about it a later level though!

Worthy sequel to 'First Samurai' with some fantastically imaginative enemies. Avoid the rubbish Megadrive 'reimagining' of this that was also released. What were they thinking of?

I've never been able to get this game to work. My Dad bought me a copy, that didn't work. I acquired a cracked copy, that didn't work. I downloaded the ADFs and tried it in WinUAE, THAT didn't work. I've never played this game... But I love the original so much...!

More fun than the First Samurai. I liked it and am going to download it into an emulator and play again soon.
