Only fun if you could save at least every five levels. Each level is a delicate balance of wits, timing, pixel-perfect reflexes and a little trial and error, and cracking one can be really satisfactory. But having to do so for 15-20 of them in a row before you obtain a password takes a lot of the fun away.
What I really loved of Spherical was the graphical style. It really looked like a native 16-bit game rather than a re-colored 8-bit one (to remain in Rainbow Arts territory: Giana Sisters anyone?). In fact, I think it very well beats the arcade version of Solomon's Key (there, I said it) in that department.

Interesting Solomons key style game where the goal is to get the purple ball into the IN block. Lots of back story and bits to make the game feel a little deeper.
The graphics and sound aren't very good, but the playability is there.

With Spherical you started to realize that Rainbow Arts weren't just a bunch of R-Type rip offers

Great graphics, great sound, good gameplay and some really creative bosses. I still don't know how to get out of the bonus stage that appears when collecting a special item, there's simply no solution to that room.

Awesome game! A kind of forgotten classic!

Totally excellent! I remember playing Solomon's key on the 64 and this was really just the same type of game. Another example of great gaming without state of the art graphics and sound.

Nice game, looks a lot and plays a bit like Solomon's Key. Doesn't reach the sheer genius of its arcade ancestor, but stays neat and entertaining 'till the end.

Brilliant game. Possibly better than Solomon's key in the arcades.
