Location: Accrington, Lancs
Joined year: 2010

Role

I make the LemonTube videos on Youtube. I used to run the competition, but now I just moderate the compo and help out around the website. I joined LA in 2010, and moderated the games competition from March 2014 to December 2020.

Biography

I wrote a story on a BBC machine where I was 13 years old, which lead to an interest in writing, and always dreamed of reviewing games for Zzap!64. I have a background in many social sciences, spiritualities and faiths, an interest in ancient history and technology, and I give myself the name lifeschool because of being a student of life, and also it sounds like Life's Cool. I have worked in retail, community care, self employed shop owner, a video editor, and more recently as a freelance video games capture archivist. When you see footage in The Commodore Story, most of The Amiga Years, or The Playstation Revolution - you are watching me.

Amiga story

Nagged my parents for a C64 and held on to it until 1992. Bought an A500 and upgraded it with a Bodega Bay, Derringer 030 card, IDE and SCSI HDDs and a CD-Rom, also a modem - where I would call a local Bulletin Board and chat for hours. That guy later gave me all of his kit - x2 A1200s and a load of original boxed games. Of course I bought a Blizzard 1230 card, a Squirrel serial card, and an Overdrive CD-Rom. My first hard drive was 80MB in size, and cost me over £200. Ok, Im an Amiga Freak - its fun to go back and enjoy those games I missed back in the day, and its better than the headache inducing stuff they put out today.

I was helping Predseda with screenshots for a while before I joined. In November 2017 he added me to the site administrators to help him keep the LemonAmiga DB up to date and fix missing information in DB entries wherever I find them.

Biography

The second half of my teenager years where blessed with the heyday of the C64 and Amiga computers. I studied history at the university, but finally ended up working in IT.

Amiga story

Besides the C64, the Amiga was the machine everyone had back then in school. It brought people together, sometimes even those who would normally not look at each other. Back then as now I liked to compare games that came out on the C64 as well as the Amiga and how they were realized on a weaker or stronger system. Somehow these Amiga and C64 games keep my attention more than the modern ones.

Top 5 Amiga games

This is quite difficult for me, as I never had a favorite this or that, but 5 games I definitely like a lot are:

  1. Dungeon Master
  2. Turrican
  3. Katakis
  4. Pools of Darkness
  5. Sim City

Amiga story

Started with A600 that replaced my first own computer C64 I quickly evolved to A1200, that I still own and use. After few years of inactivity in early 2000s I dusted off my Amiga and returned to the scene, mostly thanks to Lemon Amiga website. Beside games I love drawing in Deluxe Paint, I collect games and enjoy attending Amiga parties.

Biography

Lazy C++ programmer who enjoys playing retro games (Amiga, SNES, Mega Drive), Street Fighter, Resident Evil, Diablo II and Zelda. Between 2008 and 2012 I've added some stuff to UAE4All for the handhelds Pandora and PSP.

Amiga story

Was always jealous of friends with a Commodore 64 and longed to have one myself. For my 7th birthday I got a brand new Commodore Plus/4 in 1985 which sadly didn't last long as the connector to the Datassette burnt after a year. Thus I didn't have access to computer/video games for five long years until I could finally go to an electronics store with the intention to get my own C64 on Saturday, August 10th 1991. I'll be eternally grateful that the sales man heavily insisted on me getting an Amiga 500 instead. Didn't take long to convince me, I stood in awe looking at its Arcade-like graphics. Got the budget releases of Targhan and Impact with it and have been an Amiga games fanatic ever since. When I went on to PC gaming in the mid-nineties I often reminisced of Lizard Breath, Karamoon and all the other places that I couldn't visit anymore. Fortunately in 1998 I could play most of the good stuff again on PC thanks to the emulator Fellow. Diablo II, World of Warcraft and online Poker stole my attention from 2000-2007 but in December 2007 I suddenly felt the urge to play through Stunt Car Racer and joined the Lemon/EAB Super League when it started one month later. After a Street Fighter-related pause from 2012-2016 I'm back to playing Amiga games regurlarly again since 2017. It's so great to be able to even play any AGA game perfectly emulated thanks to WinUAE. Still got a real Amiga (1200) in 2021 again for nostalgic reasons.

Biography

My day to day grind is a boring desk job. Personally, I’m a dreamer, enjoy dabbling with art, games, and love movies. Frequently really bad movies because I’m often more interested in the process of creation than the end product.

Amiga story

As a child gaming was the main way I liked to hang out with friends. On my own it was escaping into exciting and challenging worlds that I would literally spend whole weeks in. The A500 has so much variety in it’s games it continues to stimulate my mind and inspire me.

Biography

Father of 1, married for 14 years. Currently working in Payroll. Not particularly passionate about anything right now, probably time for a change. Reading a bit, mostly older sci-fi and fantasy novels as I have alot of catching up todo.

Amiga story

Back then, it was access to a world of free music. I had to upgrade to an A1200 just for the extra chip-ram and also the ability to run newer Demos. Games were a bonus but I played all the below alot. Now, its exiting to see new games coming out and hope to create one myself someday. Trying to stay motivated to compete in the competitions.

Graham Humphery

Location: Sunny Norfolk in the UK.
Joined year: I joined the team way back in 2008.

Role

When I joined, I used to help run the games competitions, progressing to a fully-fledged forum moderator and then an administrator. After taking a break from forums, I'm back and although I don't run it anymore, I'm still a competition mod and I hope my previous experience and insight can still come in useful from time to time.

Biography

Well, I'm a big fan of computers, consoles and games, old and new - not just the Amiga, but it is my favourite as I run a big local user group (Norwich Amiga Group) here in the UK, I write for Amiga Future magazine and I have my own Twitch channel (NAG_Graham). Away from that, in normal times you can find me at football matches, gigs and walking a ridiculous number of miles on a weekend in the name of fun.

Amiga story

I don't think, from a very young age, I've ever been without one. It's been a massive influence on my life in so many ways, getting me into computing and gaming, and a gateway into meeting so many new people via my writing and my user group. It keeps me extremely busy but now and then, I still like sitting down in front of the A1200 for a couple of hours and play the odd game, away from everything else...

Top 5 Amiga games

Always a tricky one this, but for today I would pick these five...

  1. Sensible World Of Soccer
  2. Cannon Fodder
  3. Slam Tilt
  4. Dynablaster
  5. Deluxe Galaga
